October 3, 2010: 34th Annual Coast Day

Location: University of Delaware Hugh R. Sharp Campus, Lewes - 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Enjoy hands-on exhibits, lectures on popular science topics, ship and laboratory tours, crab races, a crab cake cook-off, seafood cooking demonstrations, a boat show, and much more.

October 3, 2010: 8th Annual Celebrity Chefs' Beach Brunch

October 8-9, 2010: 19th Annual Apple Scrapple Festival

Location: Downtown Bridgeville

Celebrates Bridgeville's agriculture industry by honoring the area's apples and scrapple production. The festival includes the famous Mayor's Scrapple Sling, Scrapple Chunkin' Contest, a special Food Court, entertainment, crafters, and more!

October 9, 2010: Abracadinner Cooking Class

Location: Lewes - 10 a.m.

What a CROCK (Crockpot tips and meny delicious recipes). You will learn lots of unique uses for crockpots, tips, tricks and care. In addition, you will receive a packet of personal chef-tested and client-approved recipes to try. Bring your own clean crockpot along, and you will take home dinner to plug in! Please advise in advance of any food allergies.

What can I do with TOFU? Tofu can be confusing to people and it has gotten a bad rap from the media as well, being called a boring and tasteless staple of vegetarians and vegans. The BEST news is that tofu is a perfect canvas for your favorite flavors. Join us as we explore Spicy Pan-Glazed Tofu and Orange-Glazed Tofu Triangles with Sesame Rice, and one other simple tofu gem. Learn how to classify types of tofus and what to do with each type. We will explore how to flavor, store and prepare one of the simplest ingredients on the planet. Recipes generously given.
