11th Annual Eastern Shore AFRAM Festival 2008

This year's event will begin with a Pre-Festival Basketball Competition and Fish Fry on Thursday, August 7, 2008, from 4 PM until 8:30 PM.
Friday, August 8th from 5 PM until 10 PM, will feature the Miss AFRAM pageant, with contestants competing for the titles of Little Miss., Junior Miss., and Teen Miss AFRAM. The Friday night venue also promotes local talent in the Amateur Talent Showcase. ZION REGGAE BAND returns this year for the evening performance.
Saturday, August 9th, 2008, begins at 10AM with the AFRAM PARADE, leading a procession of dancers, drummers, clowns,marchers, dignitaries, vintage cars, and motorcycles, visitors, and more, up to the festival grounds, for commencement of the opening ceremony in Nutter Park. Live performances by authentic African drummers, and dancers, Sankofa, and authentic North African dancing by Nefertiti and Damali, live Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, and kids entertainment, keep the music flowing all day until 6 PM, when TnT (Trinidad and Tobago) Baltimore Steel takes the stage until 8PM.
