In response to popular demand, Delaware Seashore State Park staff is now offering a beginner class in one of the most popular pastimes on our coast. These classes will provide a foundation in the art and practice of this relaxing sport as well as a refresher for fishermen who want to dust off their old equipment. The program will cover tackle and baits to use, current rules and regulations, and fish identification, as well as provide the opportunity to catch (and release) a big one.
Participants must be at least 10 years old, and those under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The cost is $15 and includes the use of spinning rod and reel combos, tackle, and bait. This class will meet at the Indian River Life-Saving Station. Size is limited, so please pre-register by calling 302-227-6991.
Unless exempt under Delaware law, participants must have a valid Delaware fishing license to fish as part of this program.
