July 12,2010
Begins: 9:30 AM
Delaware's Inland Bays - including Rehoboth Bay - have the largest concentration of Osprey in the state. Nicknamed the "fish hawk," Osprey arrive at nesting sites in March to breed, raise their young and enjoy good fishing before migrating south in late August. Learn how to identify them, how they fish, preferred nesting sites and how they care for their young. Nesting sites will be observed with a spotting scope. Wear sunscreen and bring binoculars if available. The naturalist will also have a limited number of binoculars.
Meet at the picnic pavilion at Savages Ditch Road.
There is no fee for this program.
