Dating back to the 18th century, voters were required to cast their ballots in the county seat. Two days later they "returned" to Georgetown to hear the results and "Return Day" was born.
Return Day, first held as early as 1792, starts with entertainment the night before on Wednesday November 5 from 6:00pm - 11:00pm in the Sussex County Courthouse parking lot. Vendors open for business at 9:00am to start the day Thursday November 6 with the parade starting at 1:30pm. Reading of the returns takes place at 4:00pm. There may even be a Joe Biden sighting.
The Budweiser Clydesdales will participate in the parade and will be stabled at the Marvel Museum just down the road in Georgetown.
