Summer Comedy
Oscar and Felix: A New Look at the Odd Couple re-explores Neil Simon's most popular comedy about a pair of desperately mismatched roommates. Felix Unger, after an unexpected break-up with his wife, is saved from his despondent downward spiral by his best, Oscar Madison, who urges Felix to move in with him. but there's a problem: Felix's neuroses completely clash with Oscar's overly casual lifestyle. In the new millennium, Simon decided to re-write the play in order to update it. Simon said that he had re-written about 70% of the original material with the basic story line being the same, but including new jokes and one-liners, and references to current aspects of pop culture such as e-mail and cell phones.
