Saturday, 2013, September 28 - 2:00pm to 3:15pm

The Milton Historical Society and Dogfish Head Brewery provide a joint historical walking tour and brewery tour in Milton. Milton was originally known as the "Head of the Broadkill" and enjoys a rich heritage with 198 structures listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The walking tour reviews the town's early history and includes a lively discussion of the ship captains and seafaring men who called Milton home. The tour will also include a history of the King Cole Cannery, part of the site where Dogfish Head Brewery is located. The tour will last approximately 2 hours (10 - 10:45 walking outdoors and 11 - noon for the brewery tour). The walk starts out at Dogfish Head Brewery and covers a little over a mile. Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes are required. Bring and use plenty of sun block, hats are recommended. ID is required for the beer tasting after the brewery tour.
