The Ritz Chamber Players, “one of the most interesting and dynamic ensembles to emerge in recent years” (The Baltimore Sun), is bringing a fresh perspective and new energy to the world of classical music. Founded in 2002 by clarinetist and Artistic Director Terrance Patterson, a Peabody Conservatory graduate, the ensemble features some of the world’s preeminent African-American chamber musicians. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, the Ritz Chamber Players is the first all-African-American chamber music group in the country to present a regular subscription concert series. Riveting performances and enlivening outreach activities at home and on tour have enabled this unique ensemble to build a multicultural audience for the standard classical repertoire as well as to showcase the works of African American composers. Six members of the Ritz Chamber Players will be coming to Lewes. These accomplished and inspiring young artists – on violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and piano – will make this Coastal Concert a very special evening.
