The Microtel Inn & Suites at 22297 Dupont Highway announced today that it has been awarded the Microtel Inn & Suites Hotel of the Year by Microtel, which recognizes the top property out of over 350 brands worldwide. It has also been awarded the Wyndham Hotel of the Year, which distinguishes the top Wyndham property out of 4,500 hotels on an international level. It is the first time in the brand’s 30 year history that a Microtel property won the Wyndham Hotel of the Year award.
In celebration of the hotel’s achievement, Chad Moore, the hotel’s Owner, and Ben Gray, the General Manager, were presented the award by Microtel and Wyndham Hotel Group leadership at the 2016 Wyndham Hotel Group Global Conference in Las Vegas before an audience of more than 6,000 hoteliers.
“This is a great honor for our hotel and a direct result of the hard work of our wonderful staff,” said Gray. “This is the first of many awards that will put Georgetown and Sussex County on the map.”
To be eligible for the award, hotels must exemplify outstanding leadership, growing revenue and occupancy numbers, and demonstrate exceptional quality and service scores on behalf of the brand.
The Microtel Inn & Suites is a 78-room hotel and offers complimentary breakfast, outdoor pool, fitness center, and meeting space. Rooms are elegantly designed and feature flat-screen televisions, complimentary wireless internet, microwaves/refrigerators, and upgraded Wyndam bedding.
