    On June 7th, and every Wednesday up to August 30th, the Ocean View Historical Complex will be open from 1:00-4:00. Learn about life in Ocean View as it was in the 1860's at the Tunnell West house. Visit the first freestanding post office in Ocean View from 1889, and see where the chicken industry began in a replica of Cecile Steele's chicken house. No admission fee. Read more here...

    Learn about the precursor to the U.S. Coast Guard on a guided tour of the Indian River Life Saving Station Museum. Then travel to the Indian River Coast Guard Station for a tour given by active-duty Coast Guardsmen and see how life saving today compares to what it was like more than a hundred years ago.     Atlantic blue crabs can be intimidating in a variety of ways. How do you hold them? How do you cook them? How do you EAT them? Find the answers to all of these questions! Learn about their biology and life cycle, hold a live crab, and try your hand at eating them under the guidance of park naturalists. Pre-registration required. Ages 6 and up.     Take a step back through time and explore the history of Life in Lewes. This 60-minute walking tour will guide you through select historic buildings at the Shipcarpenter Street Campus where you will get to see how Lewes grew from a small Dutch settlement to a bustling seashore town.  Availability to buildings may vary based on restoration projects.

    Meet a park interpreter at the south side camp store to share your memories of spending time in the park over the last 50+ years. Bring your vintage park photos, family scrapbook or just your best stories and memories. Your photos and memories could be included in the Delaware Seashore State Park "Family Scrapbook" or be used in future park history exhibits. FREE.

    Come join us Wednesday evenings at 6 pm for Zumba by Kelly on the Overlook Deck in beautiful Lewes Canalfront Park on the banks of the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal.  Bring your positive energy for an unforgettable uplifting, healthy experience.  Session is free, but donations welcomed to support the Park.

    Lewes is rich with historic happenings, legends, and tall-tales, many of them involving a touch of the paranormal. From the founding of Lewes in 1631 and the massacre of its settlement the following year, to the unknown sailors’ cemetery at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, some residents never seem to depart. This 90-minute walking tour will introduce you to stories of strange happenings in the town of Lewes and visit the Ryves Holt House, and enter one of the most haunted places in Delaware the Cannonball House. Flashlights recommended.

    Want “S’MORE” fun? Bring your family, beach chair and some marshmallows to the beach at Dagsworthy St. in Dewey every Tuesday and Wednesday for a bonfire!

    Bonfires will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, June 14th through August 31st. NO BONFIRE JULY 4TH.
