Downtown Milford, Inc. (DMI) will host the 7th Annual St. Patrick’s Pub Crawl. A “toasting the town” tradition for the Milford community, this year’s Pub Crawl will feature six local businesses, two local restaurants, and five visiting breweries and distilleries from 5 pm – 9 pm as DMI continues their commitment to highlighting downtown Milford. Each business will feature a sampling of a unique drink or food and celebrate the holiday with a twist that reflects their specific business.
The event encourages participants to walk through downtown Milford wearing official Pub Crawl shirts. The t-shirts will have the participating vendors names printed on the back as attendees will receive a check mark on the back of the shirt for each host site and pouring vendor they visit.
This year’s Crawl features a black shirt with a slight twist on the traditional Pub Crawl shamrock logo (thanks to Ben Muldrow!). T-shirts go on sale starting February 21 at the DMI office located at 207 S. Walnut Street. Hours are Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Now in its seventh year, the Pub Crawl shirts have sold out every year.
Participating merchants will have specials for event shirt wearers established in their place of business. These may include discounted drinks and food specials as well as beer, wine and liquor tastings from local breweries, wineries and distilleries.
At Riverfront Theater, 2 S Walnut St., Pub Crawlers can have their photo taken, absolutely free, at the Arena’s Shamrock Shutterbug photo booth. Through Arenas’ generous sponsorship, Shasta Shutterbug Photography by CM Baker will take keepsake photos of all the good luck, good fun, and good memories of St. Patrick’s Day.
Host sponsors for the crawl include Second Street Players. Mispillion Brewing Company will be serving tastings of their craft brews along with Sposato Family Vineyards serving their variety of wine. Petite Sweets will host Crooked Hammock Brewery, and the Music School of Delaware will host Beach Time Distilling. At 131 NW Front Street, it’s About Time will host samplings from Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales.
Along with tastings, the Music School of Delaware will have live Irish & fiddle music, featuring the School’s faculty members, from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Nathan Ames will be on guitar, Michelle Peters will be playing bass and Kate Inie-Richards will play the fiddle. Also at the Music School, the Milford branch of WSFS Bank will again be providing some heavy appetizers (meatballs and Irish cheese dip) free to the Pub Crawl attendees.
Participating restaurants and bars at the Pub Crawl include Arena’s, Abbott’s Grill, Milford Billiards and Park Place. For further details, contact Downtown Milford, Inc.
