    Fort Miles, located in what is now Cape Henlopen State Park, was a key part of the nation's coastal defense during and after WWII. In September, 2004, Fort Miles was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

    Battery 519 began construction in 1941 under the threat of war. Tour the battery to learn what the threats were and how Fort Miles planned to defend the United States from them. For ages 7 and up with a paying adult. Limit 30. Pre-registration is required by calling 302-644-5007. $5 pp.

    Take a step back through time and explore the history of Life in Lewes. This 60-minute walking tour will guide you through select historic buildings at the Shipcarpenter Street Campus where you will get to see how Lewes grew from a small Dutch settlement to a bustling seashore town.  Availability to buildings may vary based on restoration projects.

    Enjoy the baldycypress swamp on our leisurely boat tour of Trap Pond. We will talk about one of our most famous residents, the baldycypress tree. Space is limited. Trips are filled on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise stated. Meet at the Boathouse. $6 for adults, $3 for children 12 and under.
