    Back by popular demand is the Winter Lecture Series! The lectures will take place at the Indian River Life-Saving Station Museum at 5 p.m. and each Tuesday will feature a different topic.  The lecture series is free and all participants will receive a coupon to a local restaurant to use that evening after the lecture!  Pre-registration is not required.

    Every Thursday afternoon in February, a park naturalist will lead a “Mid-Week Trek” at 1 p.m.  The “Weekend Warm-Up” hikes are $6 per person (coffee included) and the “Mid-Week Trek” hikes are $5 per person.  Pre-registration is required for all hikes.  The hiking schedule is as follows:

    February 9          Prickly Pear Trail at Fresh Pond

    February 16        Thompson Island Nature Preserve

    February 23        Sea Hawk Trail at Holts Landing State Park

    Irish Eyes in Lewes will hold a BYOD (Bring Your own Dog) Yappy Hour to benefit the Delaware SPCA on Thursday February 23rd, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm.  Irish Eyes will have fun food and drink specials including Pup-Politans, Bark-Tinis, Pup-peroni Pizza, Shepherd’s Pie, Foot Long Hot Dogs and delicious treats for your furry friends. They will also donate a portion of their proceeds from the entire day to the Delaware SPCA.

    Meet at the Nature Center. We will be heading out on the trails to listen for owls. We will return to the Nature Center and dissect owl pellets. $5 pp.
