    Broad Creek  Byway Bike Tour “Bike and Brew” featuring Dogfish Head Beer & Abbotts Grill. Presented by Laurel, DE Chamber of Commerce to Benefit Nanticoke Health Services.

    • All routes start and end in Laurel Delaware.
    • Choose from a 15-mile, 25-mile, 50-mile, Metric or Century route. Completion of the ride is optional.
    • Designated rest stops with restrooms, beverages and light snacks.  Dogfish Head Beer and chicken barbeque provided by Abbot’s Grill at the finish party at Janosik Park on the Broad Creek

    Meet a park interpreter at the south side camp store to share your memories of spending time in the park over the last 50+ years. Bring your vintage park photos, family scrapbook or just your best stories and memories. Your photos and memories could be included in the Delaware Seashore State Park "Family Scrapbook" or be used in future park history exhibits. FREE.

    What better place to see the wildlife of the park than from a touring pontoon boat? We will explore the pond in search of animals feeding and drinking, and some just wading around.     Tickets purchased in advance from club members are $15, or $25.00 including lunch.  Tickets purchased on June 3 are $20 or $30 if lunches are not sold out.

    Join us at the Nanticoke River Yacht Club, 30 North Market Street, Blades, Del. to pick up your lunch, browse vendors for garden plants, raffles, crafts and related items for your home and garden.

    Artisans will be at the gardens to enhance your experience.

    Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays, May 6, June 3, July 1, Aug. 5 and Sept. 2, the sites with free admission include the Old Sussex County Courthouse on South Bedford Street, the historic train station on Layton Avenue, the Nutter Marvel Carriage Museum on South Bedford Street, the Treasures of the Sea exhibit at Delaware Technical Community College, and the Masonic Lodge on East Market Street. Docents will be on site to give tours and answer questions about their respective locations.

    The 13th annual Seaside Craft Show will be held in downtown Bethany Beach on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Sponsored by the Cultural and Historical Affairs Committee, this juried fine crafts show will feature over 100 fine crafters along the boardwalk, bandstand area, Garfield Parkway, and Parkwood Street.  Shoppers can purchase jewelry, pottery, home décor, glass, photography, woodwork, and more. Notes on the Beach will perform from 11 – 4 on the bandstand.

    Construction began on Battery 519 in 1941 under the threat of war. Tour the battery to learn what the threats were and how Fort Miles planned to defend the United States from them. For ages 7 and up with a paying adult. $5 pp.

    Join our historic interpreters for an insightful analysis of some of Howard Schroeder's popular wartime artwork. Schroeder captured many sights and scenes of military life at Fort Miles in WWII, including scenes of his own duties as a Coast Artillery Mine planter. For ages 13 and up with an adult. Limit of 12.
