    Lewes is rich with historic happenings, legends, and tall-tales, many of them involving a touch of the paranormal. From the founding of Lewes in 1631 and the massacre of its settlement the following year, to the unknown sailors’ cemetery at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, some residents never seem to depart. This 90-minute walking tour will introduce you to stories of strange happenings in the town of Lewes and visit the Ryves Holt House, and enter one of the most haunted places in Delaware the Cannonball House. Flashlights recommended.

    Want “S’MORE” fun? Bring your family, beach chair and some marshmallows to the beach at Dagsworthy St. in Dewey every Tuesday and Wednesday for a bonfire!

    Bonfires will be held every Tuesday and Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, June 14th through August 31st. NO BONFIRE JULY 4TH.

    FREE PARKING - Monday-Wednesday, 5 – 11 PM.

    Walk the bay in search of these elusive crustaceans and discover why they come out at night. Bring a flashlight to help spot them and dress for the weather. For ages 7 and up with a paying adult. Limit 20. Pre-registration required by calling 302-645-6852. $5 pp.

    In 1943, World War II was in full swing, but it was much different than anticipated. Tour Battery 519 by lantern light and learn about U-boats on the prowl, sailors in distress and what World War II turned out to be for soldiers stationed at Fort Miles.     We're sending you on a wild CRAB Chase! Join a park naturalist on the beach at night to seek out the elusive nocturnal ghost crab. All you need is a flashlight to assist you in spotting them as they scurry from side to side in search of their evening meal. FREE.

  • July 27, 2017 - 9:00am

    Use a beach seine net to search the shallows of Delaware Bay for fish, crabs, and other creatures. Dress to get wet and wear secure shoes, no flip-flops. For ages 5 and older with a paying adult. No reservations needed. Tickets are available the day of the program with a maximum of six tickets per group. Limit 30. $5 pp. 

  • July 27, 2017 - 9:00am

    Explore the wonders of the park and learn about the critters that call the park "home." Campers will get the opportunity to explore the marsh, beach and bay. This is the only program when parents are not required to stay. Children will get wet or muddy! Please call for more details and to pre-reigster. Ages 8 - 11. $35 per child, per day.
